A team of over 400 volunteers provide a vital contribution to the work we carry out. Volunteers assist in all areas, from front line 
services to retail, and from helping in the laundry to maintaining the grounds. As our services develop, new opportunities will become available. For details of current vacancies please click the Vacancies link on the left menu.
There is a huge range of activities that our volunteers are involved with, from helping in the Hospice itself, either with patients or behind the scenes, to serving customers in one of our charity shops, or helping at one of our many fundraising events. The amount of time you give is up to you, all we ask is that once we agree your commitment you try to stick to it as much as possible.
Why Volunteer?
By giving up a few hours on a regular basis you will be making a huge donation to the Hospice. Each year there are nearly 60,000 volunteer hours donated, amounting to over £300,000 of wage costs saved, meaning we are able to use this time and money to provide the highest quality of care to our patients and their families. In return we offer you the chance to make new friends, learn new skills, enjoy a real family atmosphere in a caring environment, join in with social activities and have a lot of fun.
